A structure plan is prepared as part of a plan change to rezone areas for urban uses and typically includes proposed land use, types and locations of land uses provided for (including reserves), development density, staging and land use controls. Structure Plan Areas indicates where a structure plan exits. Zones are predominantly defined by cadastral boundaries (where it was clear that it followed the cadastral boundary either through visual inspection or reference to the legal description(s)). At some location features are based on natural boundaries. Zones are subject to changes undertaken through the Resource Management Act.The Waipa District Plan was made operative on 14 August 2017 and has legal effect from this date.
