Te Papa Natural Environment Collection

Te Papa’s natural history collections database includes plants, birds, molluscs, land mammals, reptiles and amphibians, fish, and arthropods, from 1769 to present day. The collections are mostly from New Zealand, although there are some Pacific collections. Only a percentage of specimens are databased, with percentages varying per collection. Collections are databased in Te Papa’s collection management system.
