Sea Ice and Sub-Ice Platelet Layer Thicknesses, McMurdo Sound, 2022

This metadata record represents EM-31 transect measurements, of sea ice and sub-ice platelet layer thicknesses.

The EM-31 transects link with the research objectives of ASP Project 4, Objective 4, specifically quantify the spatial variability of key physical parameters influencing the distribution and structure of sub-ice platelet layers, and their role as a habitat, in South-Western McMurdo Sound at a variety of scales. The EM-31 transects will allow quantification of the spatial distribution of sea ice thickness which is strongly affected by the presence of sub-ice platelet layers in this region.
