Regional Heat Demand Database

The Regional Heat Demand Database is an open database which records the location and nature of existing process heat demand by region and sector across New Zealand. Data is aggregated by region and by sector to maintain anonymity for the sites concerned

Data was collected for the South Island across 2021 and 2022, and for the North Island across 2022 and 2023. The data has been validated against, and supplemented with, data collected through EECA’s Regional Energy Transition Accelerator (RETA) programme of work, to ensure the dataset is of the highest quality currently achievable.

Detailed raw data can be made available to New Zealand government agencies for the purposes of work relating to New Zealand's decarbonisation. For more information contact EECAenquiries@eeca.govt.nz with the subject line "Regional Heat Demand Database".
