The data is supplied by EV charge station owners and operators via inbound API. It is then served out via API, and forms the basis of various journey maps.
A number of organisations use the API, but they need to sign up to access it.
This data enables people to access the data immediately, without needing to sign up or access an API.
Data reuse caveats: Data is sourced from external stakeholders not from Waka Kotahi. Waka Kotahi validates data before entering into open data portal.

Data quality caveats: for API explorer users, there is a known issue with number-based attribute filters where the “AND” operator is used instead of the “BETWEEN” operator. Substituting “BETWEEN” for “AND” manually in the query URL will resolve this.Update (13 June 2022): we’ve updated how the list of connectors at a charging station are stored in the field “connectorsList”. We've grouped them, and provided a count for unique types.For example, {AC, 44 kW, Type 2 Socketed, Status: Operative, Count:4}.
