A table containing the number of accepted and declined vaccine related treatment injury claims, and the associated costs of these claims, is included.Please note that ACC is unable to confirm, without reading through individual claim files, whether the treatment injury was related to the administration of the vaccine or a specific component of the vaccine.
The treatment injury data provided was extracted on 2 November 2021 and includes claims decided between 1 July 2005 and 1 November 2021. It may differ if re-run at a later date.
The number of treatment injury claims decided by financial year is shown in the table split between accepted and declined claims.
The data has been extracted for claims where a cover decision for treatment injury has been made, between 1 July 2005 and 1 November 2021. The data is collated by financial year, where a financial year is from 1 July to 30 June. For the 2021/2022 financial year, the figures include data as at 1 November 2021.
Costs are exclusive of GST and do not include any costs covered by emergency treatment at public hospitals. Treatment provided by Public Health Acute Services is bulk funded and costs are not allocated to individual claims.
