Conservation Management Strategy Places

Places in this dataset are areas that have been identified in Conservation Management Strategies and Plans since 2012 for the purposes of integrated conservation management - as per the Conservation General Policy 2005. Places may include any combination of terrestrial, freshwater and marine areas and may be determined by a range of criteria, including, but not limited to: ecological districts, geological features, catchments, internal departmental, regional or district council or rohe/takiwä boundaries, land status, major recreation or tourism destinations, commonality of management considerations, or unique management needs.The Places defined in this dataset need to be taken in context of the relevant Conservation Management Strategy document.
